We created VettedMatches because we believe people deserve better from online dating.
For too long, online dating has placed enormous trust in profiles, photographs and information that can be created, altered or completely fabricated. Fake profiles, stolen identities, AI-generated images, deepfakes, manipulation, deception, fraud and people hiding behind false identities have made it increasingly difficult to know who you are actually talking to.
We decided to build something different.
VettedMatches was created around one simple principle:
You should know who you are connecting with.
Our purpose is to bring greater trust, transparency, accountability and human judgement into online dating.
We believe AI has no place in human relationships.
Artificial intelligence has its place in many areas of modern life. But when it comes to forming genuine human relationships, we believe there must be a line.
Love, attraction, companionship, friendship and meaningful relationships are human experiences. They should involve real people, real identities, real photographs and real conversations.
At VettedMatches, we do not believe people should have to compete with AI-generated versions of other people.
We do not support the use of AI to create fake identities, manufacture photographs, impersonate real people or deceive someone looking for a genuine connection.
A person looking for a partner should not have to wonder whether the photograph is real, whether the person behind the profile is real, or whether the identity they are engaging with has been artificially created.
There is no place for a fake person in a genuine relationship.
That is why VettedMatches takes a fundamentally different approach.
Human-led. Not AI-led.
Unlike traditional dating platforms that largely rely on users to verify one another, VettedMatches uses a human-led vetting and verification process.
We work to establish that a person is who they say they are, verify supporting information and assess whether they meet our eligibility and safety standards before they are permitted onto the platform.
Our Professional Standards and safeguarding processes are designed to help identify concerns that could otherwise remain hidden behind a screen.
We believe important decisions about trust and safety should involve human judgement, not simply an algorithm.
Technology can assist people. It should never replace the human responsibility involved in protecting people who are looking for genuine relationships.
We know that no vetting system can guarantee someone’s future behaviour. People can change, circumstances can change, and no platform can remove every risk associated with meeting another person.
But we can raise the standard.
We can make it harder to hide behind a fake identity.
We can make deception more difficult.
We can introduce greater accountability.
And we can give genuine people greater confidence that the person they are connecting with has been through a meaningful vetting process.
